Falling and Rising
Gravity takes us,
pulls us down to the Earth.
Never weather the storm without your raincoat.
When you fall in love,
you sometimes lose your footing.
If you aren't careful,
you might lose yourself.
Is is possible to love so deeply
that you lose who you are?
The mere thought of surrendering oneself in a downward spiral never seems to end
makes my heart jump.
That beat.
So slight.
It reminds me of the fire within me.
The spark.
The bright light that grows steadily.
Warm essence of the golden sun on my skin.
Feeling the crisp air
as it licks my face.
Falling is letting go
of everything and feeling the beauty around you.
And then there is a shift and you realize the beauty has died,
while the life has been drained from you whole being.
I determined that falling is loss of all rationality,
bleeding your soul until its dead.
You need to pick yourself up and lick your wounds.
The ones that you have allowed to extinguish your flame.
I decided that rising was much better than falling.
It lifts you up to a higher plane of existence,
and it requires hard work and dedication.
The spirit soars and the soul is lifted to an intimate space.
It’s quite honestly the most beautiful thing to experience.
